RD1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished with Brazilian Amburana Wood

RD1 takes traditional Kentucky bourbon in a distinctly different direction with its Brazilian Amburana Wood finish. Starting with Kentucky Straight Bourbon aged 4+ years, RD1 introduces honeycomb-drilled Amburana wood staves into the barrel, allowing the whiskey to quickly pick up the intensely aromatic baking-spice character for which Amburana has become famous.

The result is a bold, dessert-forward bourbon bursting with cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, vanilla, and baked apple, followed by layers of peach, apricot, spice cake, and gingersnap. The palate is rich and warming, with the Amburana influence carrying through a long finish of allspice, sweet oak, and lingering baking spice.

At 110 proof, RD1 Amburana delivers plenty of intensity while maintaining enough sweetness and richness to keep the spice in balance. Its mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley gives the whiskey a sturdy bourbon foundation underneath the exotic wood finish.
